Terms of Service

Last updated: [Effective date — e.g. 1 April 2026]

Draft for review. Complete the bracketed details and have this reviewed by qualified legal counsel before go-live. This is not legal advice.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of TrustBiz, operated by [Legal Entity Name] (“TrustBiz”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, submitting a business for verification, or displaying a TrustBiz seal, you agree to these Terms. If you are acting for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. What TrustBiz is (and isn't)

TrustBiz verifies a business against official and banking records at a point in time and issues a graded trust certificate with an embeddable seal linking to a live verify page.

A certificate is traceable evidence of verification — it is not an endorsement, guarantee, or recommendation of the business, its products, or its conduct. It reflects status as last verified and can change.

3. Your account & information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, to keep it updated, and to keep your credentials secure. Submitting false, forged, or misleading documents or details is prohibited and may result in refusal, suspension, or revocation.

4. Verification, issuance & status changes

Issuance is at our discretion and is subject to the checks passing; some checks may require manual review. We re-verify periodically. If a business's status later changes or a re-verification fails, we may suspend or revoke the certificate, and that change propagates immediately to the seal, verify page, and registry.

A certificate has a validity period and may require renewal to remain active.

5. Fees & payments

Certification and renewal fees, if any, are shown at checkout [insert pricing]. Payments are handled by our payment gateway. Refunds, where offered, are governed by our [Refund Policy]. [Confirm tax/GST treatment and refund terms with counsel.]

6. The seal & your licence to use it

While your certificate is active we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to display the seal, provided it links to your live verify page and is not altered in a misleading way. You may bind the seal only to domains and handles you actually own (we may require proof).

You must stop displaying the seal if your certificate is suspended, revoked, or expires. Copying, forging, or misrepresenting a seal, or impersonating another verified business, is prohibited.

7. Buyer checks

Anyone may check a business's status for free. A check is informational only and is not a warranty about the business or any transaction. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, dealings between buyers and businesses.

8. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service — including scraping, automated abuse, attempting to bypass rate-limits or security, submitting others' information without authority, or using TrustBiz to deceive. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that do.

9. Intellectual property

The TrustBiz name, seal design, site, and software are our intellectual property. These Terms grant only the limited seal licence in section 6; no other rights are transferred.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. Verification depends on third-party and government records that may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate; we do not warrant that a certificate is error-free or that a verified business will act honestly.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim. [Confirm liability caps with counsel.]

11. Indemnity, changes & termination

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service. We may update these Terms (posted here with a new date) and may suspend or end the service or your account as described above.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [City, State], India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights. [Confirm dispute-resolution / arbitration clause with counsel.]
